This first shot is my favorite photo of the day. I am not sure if I like the orange ball.

Nice shot in the second photo. One of the nice things about playing in the Classic league will be the absence of ugly buildings in the background of my photos. In this case, the light brick makes for poor contrast.

This first photo would be a great shot if my focusing had been a little sharper. (Actually, upon closer inspection, the focusing is not the problem. I must have hit the shutter just as his head hit the ball. The problem is my shutter speed was too slow to "freeze" the movement of his head. His head is just moving too quickly, and hence the appearance of being out of focus.) On the other hand, maybe he is about to hit the ball and is cocking his head. I tend to be late on header shots, so that is why I suspect he has already hit it. There is a slight delay in an SLR (single lens reflex) camera between the time you hit the shutter switch and the time the shutter opens as the mirror has to be raised before the shot can be taken..
