For the photography buffs out there, I think I may have finally figured out the lighting in the gym. It has taken three years. Take a look at the shots I took at the last basketball game last year and compare them to these.

So, to summarize. Nikon D2h camera, Nikon 28-70 f2.8 AFS lens. Nikon SB-800 flash. Sto-Fen GREEN plastic flash diffuser, and an Expodisc to take a custom pre-set white balance. ASA 800 "film speed", 1/250 shutter speed. Camera set to shutter priority. Shots taken in RAW mode. Flash set to TTL  -.3, exposure compensation -.3.

Then, a little bit of Photoshop. Crop the size, then Auto levels, then Neat Image noise reduction software, unsharp mask 20-60-0 (just learned that little tip.), reduce image size to 1000x1500. Then save as JPG to load on my website.
