I was multitasking while watching the BCS Championship Bowl Game. While on the UTD website I read the commencement address given by Scott Rodgers. Here is a quote:

"We were never the fastest, tallest or most athletic team in our conference, but we found success because, as far as we were concerned, we were the hardest working team in the conference. We had a collection of guys that brought extreme focus and energy to each practice. We had teammates that were willing to sacrifice individual merit for the good of the team, and in short, our team put in enough work and maintained the right attitude for us to deserve to be successful. And we were successful — all the way to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division Three National Championships. This simple concept can make all the difference in how we approach the accomplishment of our goals."

Over my few years photographing the UTD basketball teams there were many, many times when I would size up the teams on the floor during the first few minutes of a game and reach the conclusion that UTD was a little outmatched. And, of course, I would be wrong when the final score had UTD up by 20 or more points. It has always been a great group of kids. (And perhaps this is also a backwards way of complimenting the coaches.)
