My first time back with UTD and photography since February 2020. If anybody is interested...... I was using two different Nikon D4 cameras that I bought used last year. The first one seemed to have some problems with it. I discovered this only after I bought the second one from a TI engineer. The second one seemed much sharper. So I sent the first one off to Nikon service back in March. I think it was returned to me in June or July with a new shutter. They also said everything was checked to factory new specs. So, this was my first time to try it.

So, games 1 and 3 were taken with my TI camera and 2 and 4 with my rebuilt camera. I had some trouble with my settings when I first started with the rebuilt camera. I had the shutter speed set to 1,000th of a second but I forgot to set the ISO to auto. So my first ten shots were black and I was baffled. After a few minutes I figured out the problem. Once I got it working properly I did not notice that the shutter speed was set to 640 instead of 1,000. I will be carefully reviewing the settings used on both cameras to see if I can tell a difference in quality.

Regarding my workflow. Pretty easy. I take the shots in RAW mode. I pull up the raw file into Photoshop. It first pulls the RAW file into a pre program called something like Adobe Camera Raw. I then hit the AUTO button to adjust the light while in Adobe Camera Raw. Once into Photoshop I run each shot through an add on program called Neat Image to get low light noise out of the shots. I then crop the shots. Then I set up a macro to reduce the size of the file to 1,800 by 1,200. I then save the file as a jpeg using "medium" settings to reduce the file size. That is it. Nothing too complex.

Also, with the TI D4 I was using a Nikor AF-S 70-200 f2.8 E FL ED lens. On the rebuilt D4 I was using a Nikor AF-S VR f2.8 G lens.

Another thing.... The photo of the graduating senior and the final team photos were taken with a Nikon Z6 and a Nikon 24-70 f2.8 Z lens. The camera and lens combo is sensational. I might, maybe buy the 70-200 f2.8 Z lens............
