Now this was a pretty cool find. It is a large postcard that contains 16 photos of Mt. Clemens that fold out sort of like the plastic in certain billfolds, i.e. you open it up and the long sheet of paper that had been folded will reveal 16 different photos. I will let readers send me emails and attempt to date this card. I am guessing that it was somehow commissioned by the Park Hotel since it is so heavily featured.

This is the front of the card.
back.jpg (94686 bytes)
This is the back of the card. I never knew that the Jewel or Macomb theatre was once known as the Bijou. Or was there yet another theatre in town. The Winston Churchill feature should help in dating the card.

Clinton River.jpg (53823 bytes) Colonial.jpg (77988 bytes) Elkins.jpg (72099 bytes)
Anybody know the history of the Elkins Hotel? Where was it located and when was it open? The 1913 City Directory of Mt. Clemens lists the location as 13 S. Gratiot. Where EXACTLY would that have been?
Library.jpg (95228 bytes) Malbin.jpg (72521 bytes)
I am guessing the Malbin Hotel was opened after 1915 as it does not appear in the City Directory. Where was it, etc.
